Dispensing

Dispensing Services

This practice is a dispensing practice. In line with NHS regulations, patients who live more than one mile (by road) from a community pharmacy (chemist) are eligible to have their NHS prescriptions dispensed by the practice.

Patients who live within one mile of a community pharmacy are not eligible to use the practice dispensing service and should have their prescriptions dispensed by a local pharmacy.

Named GP

All Patients have been allocated a named GP who is responsible for the Patient’s overall care. Please contact the surgery if you would like to know the name of your GP

If you wish you can also ask to change your named GP and we would aim to accommodate this request wherever possible.

Although you have a named GP, you can still make appointments with any of our doctors.

GP earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients.

The average pay for GPs working at Church Lane Surgery in the last financial year (2024/2025) was £74,881 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 13 part-time GPs who have worked in the practice for more than six months.
