Home visits

We ask our patients to visit the surgery if at all possible, as our doctors can see several patients at the practice in the time it takes to make a single home visit. Home visits are only offered to patients who are unable to get to the surgery for medical reasons, and whose condition is medically urgent.

Babies and children can usually be brought to the surgery even when ill and will always be given an appointment quickly if necessary.

To request a home visit, please:

  • Complete an online request. Requests should be submitted before 10.00am.
  • Provide as much detail as possible about your condition so we can prioritise urgent cases and arrange the most appropriate care.
  • Make sure the practice has your current address and telephone number. If your home is difficult to find, please include directions to help the GP locate you quickly.

A GP may contact you by telephone first to assess your needs.

Lack of transport is not a reason to request a home visit. If you need assistance with transport contact Boroughbridge Community Charity on 01423 324504 who will be able to help.
